My name is JODI DOERKSEN.  My husband, Darwin, and I run a free range, safe & secure, friendly dog atmosphere. Located in beautiful upper KRESTOVA, BC surrounded by the Monashee Mountains, CHICO'S PLACE offers a day care and night care facility that is similar to your home.  Dogs can free range on the 1 of 2 fenced in acres, while the other acre is reserved for fenced in chickens and taking short walks in our partial forest!  Your dog can laze around or nap on the extra large covered porch or sleep inside the house in their own room, generally alone (with or without a crate, depending on each individual animal).  We do not use kennels and do not need any paper work, but we do require a meet and greet ahead of leaving your dog with us and an emergency contact person in the Kootenays!

I have worked with dogs for many years and am currently enrolled in some training courses online through Holly & Hugo Pet Trainers. I have a Bachelor Arts in Political Science and Women's Studies.  Formerly a Registered Massage Therapist for 15 years in both Ontario and Manitoba, I currently hobby farm, incubate and butcher chickens, sell eggs and take care of dogs.  I love to hike, paddle board, roller blade, fish and camp.  I am an avid reader and writer, and am involved with a writer's group of independent female authors from across the globe.  Currently, I am working on my memoirs.
